In aChord is proud to announce our new Artistic Director, Jim Tompkins-MacLaine.

Jim Tompkins-MacLaine began his formal musical education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, studying choral conducting and vocal performance. He then attended Arizona State University, where he was co-founder of their jazz vocal program.

Currently, he is finishing a masters degree in Music History at San Diego State University, where he taught a laboratory class in the history of Vocal Jazz in America. An accomplished tenor, he has sung on six continents, and toured the globe with the Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers.
